Flavors of Asia at Marriott Manila

One of the best ways to experience Asia is through its food – historic, flavorful, and vast. Especially for the Southeast Asian region that boasts a multi-cultural and hard-hitting influence with the way we enjoy cooking and eating, it’s no wonder why dishes that hail from these regions are considered a feast for the senses.

I attended Flavors of Asia ‘s press conference last July 2, 2012 at The Den, Marriot Hotel Manila. The room was filled with food and lifestyle bloggers! Hello to Vance, Cha, Joy, Sophie, Aisa, Ana, Paul, Angela, Hannah, Ness, Sir Az, Mommy Lace, Ruth, Alwyn, Diane, and those I forgot to mention!

Marriott Manila brings home four of the Asia ’s most famous cuisines. They introduced chefs from Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam with their masterpieces.

With JW Marriott Jakarta’s Dadang Wahyudi, JW Marriott Bangkok Thanatorn Krobsuay, Kuala Lumpur’s Ruhizad Muri, Renaissance Riverside Saigon Phan Tien Hoa . Boasting with culinary career track that is dynamically diverse, expect only authentic and a palate tickling adventure anyone could get.

Thanatorn Krobsuay

His masterpiece: Papaya Salad
 Dadang Wahyudi

and his best Indonesian skewers
Ruhizad Muri
and this is his masterpiece. Looks delicious!
Phan Tien Hoa
and his Vietnamese Spring Rolls!
They have prepared a game for us too!

And the winning team got a bottle of wine! Hurray!

After that, we had a sumptuous Asian feast at Marriott Cafe. 100% truly Asian buffet! First stop is the Salad Station where you can make your own dressing of course.
Here are my picks for Round 1: Apolkat Shake (Avocado with Chocolate), Teh Tarik (Malaysian Black Tea with condensed milk), and Thai Lemongrass and their Japanese dishes.
Here’s Mommy Lace and Sir Az.We’ve met again after 2 years! 😀

Round 2: my fail buffet plate! XD but I love crab and shrimp in butter and garlic.

And here’s the best part – their amazing collection of fruits and desserts. Gelato is my favorite station! I got Dulce Latte with candy sprinkles on top for myself in Round 3.

This would be a month-long celebration so if you have time, you may visit Marriott Cafe and try their excellent dishes. For  only P2,300 net from Sunday to Thursday and P2,500 net for Friday and  Saturday, enjoy a charming Asian dinner that assures an enjoyable age-old  tradition of bonding through a delicious mix of aromatic, spicy, rich, sweet, and hot Flavors of Asia.

Bringing  an authentic taste of local life and hospitality, our four chefs will also conduct a special cooking class for only P1, 500 net inclusive of a hearty  lunch: July 9, Thai; July 16, Malaysian, July 23 Vietnamese; and July 30,  Indonesian. If you wish to experience this treat that’s injected with fun and  information, consider enjoying Asian cuisine by learning to cook it yourself!

Instead  of hitting the usual haunt, invite the group over and explore a night of culinary adventure at Marriott Café, guaranteed to give anyone a quick  passport to Asia .
