DAKASI Grand Launch

Milk teas are everywhere and there are a lot of milk tea places to choose from. For me, I really don’t go with the hype. I usually buy from a hyped store when the craze starts to die (well, I am trying to avoid long lines and save time) but Dakasi is definitely an exemption!

It’s DAKASI time! I was luckily invited by Liz to go to Dakasi‘s grand launch at their newly opened branch along Dela Rosa street, Makati. It is near Greenbelt 5, before Paseo. If you are working in Ayala, or you are familiar in Enterprise building, you’ll find the place easily.

The event was hosted by Melai, oh my, I miss this girl a lot! It was so nice catching up with her that day!

Melai and Ms. Liz Lanuzo, the brand consultant for Dakasi Philippines

Mr. Dexter Chee-Ah, one of the owners of the brand, gave us an interesting history of Dakasi which started a year ago. February 14, to be exact! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Dakasi, in Taiwan, means “big cast”. With 18 branches (and counting) all over here in the Phiippines, this Taiwanese milk tea brand has proven to be a strong competitor in the local milk tea scene. They cook their own sugar, pearls, and tea everyday to ensure maximum freshness of all their drinks. If the tea is not on the right temperature, they won’t serve it to the customers. They also make sure that their tapioca pearls will not exceed 3 hours shell life.

They also have a shaker machine wherein it shakes each cup for about 25 seconds to make the drink smooth and consistent, and within that period, the staff must not be idle – he should be cleaning the bar while waiting for the machine to finish! In that way, they keep the area clean and tidy.
One of their staff tried to make a drink in 45 seconds. I got stressed while everyone was counting but he still succeeded and served the milk tea on time!
You know what? I’m starting to love Dakasi! Seriously, because of their Honeydew Milk Tea! For me, anything with honeydew or melon flavor is golden. This one beats my ex-favorite wintermelon flavor from a certain milk tea place. I can’t wait to try more of their fruit flavored milk teas!

Best name ever! Hahahahhaa
They also have other variants that you might like:

Aside from refreshing drinks, they will also add these yummy snacks on their menu in the coming months. They’d offer nachos (which is really good), chocolate flavored popcorn (which is really good also lol), sandwiches (which are all yummy lololol), and chocolate chip cookies – my favorite!!! Ok, I sound so matakaw. XD

They also had prepared a quick game for us! Whoever finishes a large Dakasi Pearl Milk Tea first gets to win a special prize – Ana Gonzales won the challenge!

It was a delight to see my blogger friends once again and ex-housemate too! It’s none other than Ira of Stylebible!

Thanks for the photo, Ira~

It was a fun and successful event. I had a great milk tea time! Thank you DAKASI Philippines for inviting me!
