Playing with Nyx Cosmetics

Last week, I had a chance to watch the musical Marco Polo: An Untold Love Story together with big sister and Eton. We got included in the invitational concert version guestlist cause one of the characters in the play is my sister’s college friend. I’m excited as this is the first musical composed by a Filipino. Its gala night will be held on February next year.

But before that, I was able to find time and play with my new makeup collection. Yes, I”ve been roadtesting quite a lot of products lately leaving my OOTD posts not updated. Don’t worry, I’ll post one soon. For now, let’s dive deep on the products I got recently.
What’s on my table? It’s Nyx Cosmetics!

I started opening NYX Auto Eyebrow Pencil because I was so curious about it. Since NYX products are very affordable, I thought that this eyebrow pencil could be the best dupe for expensive automatic brow pencil in the market. Let’s find out.

 SP04 Brown

Since it is AUTO, there is no need for manual sharpening making it a great time saver. You just have to twist whenever neeeded. Then on first stroke, I found out that this eyebrow pencil’s texture is very creamy and it goes on smoothly. However, you have to be careful as you might just create a caterpillar-ish eyebrow on your first attempt. Thank God, I’m a light-handed painter.

Next, I tested NYX eye/eyebrow pencil. The shade that I got is in purple so obviously, I’m not using it for my eyebrows, unless crazy. Haha. It could be a great inner eye liner but since I am wearing purple that day, I did not use it as it might just overdo my entire look and won’t be appropriate for a formal event.

Pigmentation is ok but you may need a number of strokes before you get the desired color. One thing I like about it though is it’s not easy to remove. It didn’t get washed away quickly by water unless you rub it.

Then I tried using NYX Eyeshadow in ES 159 Midnight. It’s a great product especially in creating the smoky eye makeup. Easy to blend, highly pigmented, but looks better when used with a primer. However, it has shimmers which some people may not like.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream is truly an HG product! Great color payoff. I am so pleased with its effect. It feels so creamy as you glide but looks soft matte after application. Staying power of around 3 hours is quite good for its price.

I am definitely getting the other shades like Amsterdam, Stockholm, Tokyo, London, Antwerp, Istanbul, Addis Ababa, San Paulo, Abu Dhabi, Monte Carlo, and Sydney. They have different sweet scents though that some might not like.

Honestly, I am hesitant to try red lippies. In fact, I don’t really like wearing lipsticks! But I have a little product here that needs some roadtesting. This lipstick is extra creamy compared to other lipsticks I have tried. If you feel Angelina Jolie-ish for a day, then this lipstick is for you. Take a look at how rich the color is:

Among these products, I selected NYX AUTO eyebrow pencil, eyeshadow in midnight, and soft matte cream for an obligatory selfie shot:

I personally think those three products are the best from my haul. Oh btw, do you see any improvement on my Monea-treated hair? ๐Ÿ™‚

So, what do you think of these products? Do you like NYX cosmetics?
