Valentines Dinner at The Terrace, Maxims Hotel

The season of love is here! Me and Eton decided to have an early Valentine date at The Terrace which was located at the 5th floor of Maxims hotel. Because of its relaxing and calm ambiance, The Terrace is such a good place for fine dining and romantic date.

Upon entering, we were introduced to Chef Ben Bernardo and ushered to a table by the window. He sat down with us to discuss the 4-course menu they will serve for the night.

A bottle of wine, anyone?

We started with Chilled Oyster Soup. Its creamy texture and freshness whetted our appetite and a sliced lemon on the side gave it a little twist to this seafood appetizer. And I love how the salmon roe bursts in my mouth with a wonderfully salty juice!

Ready for the next one?

Next was the Marinated Tomato Salad. This generously sliced fresh tomatoes marinated in vinaigrette and olive oil, mixed with cheese, cucumber and olives are perfect to break the creaminess of the soup earlier. It may sound like a simple dish but it was awesomely different and delicious. 🙂

Time to gorge the main dish. The Trio for 2! Ooh lala. I think this dish made the night even more romantic with its seared tuna, grilled lamb and beef, and a pasta with shrimps and scallops.

While he was explaining how this dish was prepared, I realized how meticulous he is when it comes to his dishes. Chef Ben is a genius, indeed.

This seared tuna is my most favorite!

At this point we were so full already! But I tried all my might to save space for my favorite part, the dessert.

Ending the night romantically with Warm Affection. A sweetly created dessert for a couple.

It’s a plate of creamy banana mousse with a golden leaf and a heart shaped dark chocolate chip, chocolate ganache, mango-passion fruit cream with green tea chocolate and raspberry jellies and syrup. Each has a different flavor that balanced the dessert really well. Excellent!

You definitely have to try these Valentines Day menu from The Terrace! These dishes will be officially served today until Saturday. For updates in their menu, you may check out Resorts World Manila Facebook page and follow them on Twitter and Instagram. Thanks Resorts World Manila and Maxims Hotel. It was a beautiful Valentine experience. We had a really great time enjoying the delicious food and of course, a great chat with Chef Ben. He’s from Australia and to experience his Valentine’s Day menu gave us a little story behind this passionate master chef. Hope to see him again soon!
