Dr. Vinson Pineda started practicing professional dermatology in 1969. He was able to set up his own private clinic a year later, which was the very first Dermclinic branch, just in front of UST and then opened three additional branches in Quezon City, Caloocan, and Makati.
Dr. Pineda trained in New York in Dermatopathology and Dermatology for the New York University’s Skin and Cancer Unit. When he came back, he set the trend for practicing ethical and professional dermatology by ensuring that all practitioners under the Dermclinic umbrella have undergone the required training and have earned the necessary credentials and certifications to practice. Dr. Pineda believes that accreditation and training is very important in the industry, as there is a proliferation of unaccredited yet acclaimed personalities who are practicing dermatology and plastic surgery that did not undergo the respective 3 year trainings for each field.
Currently, Dr. is the president of Philippine Academy of Clinical and Cosmetic Dermatology for the past 6 years and is also a member of the Philippine Medical Association. has been in service for over 40 years. He is also a practicing Christian and credits God in the success of all his endeavors.
Dr. Pineda is regarded as ‘the father of Philippine dermatology.
