Venus Raj graduated cum laude from Bicol University with a bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts major in Journalism. After, she worked as an Information Assistant for the regional office of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, and as a part-time fashion model.

Venus Raj joined her first beauty pageant in 2007, the regional Miss Bicolandia. A year later, she took part in the Miss Philippines-Earth 2008 and won Miss Philippines-Earth Eco-Tourism. In 2010, Venus Raj took part in the Binibining Pilipinas search, and won the highest-coveted title of Binibining Pilipinas-Universe. 

Venus Raj represented the Philippines in the Miss Universe pageant in 2010. Venus eventually won Fourth Runner-Up. She was also awarded as the “Woman of the Year” in the recently concluded 10th Gawad Amerika Awards Night last November 5. The Gawad Amerika Foundation honors individuals who excel in their respective careers and make a difference in their lives and communities.
