Skincare Routine with Kiehl’s

Finding out the best skincare routine for the season is a never-ending task. Every time the weather changes, there’s suddenly a new concern to tackle. So I have decided to stick with my OGs. Yes, it’s Kiehl’s. So it’s still fun to try out new skincare products every now and then but this year, when my psoriasis got worse, I have decided not to remove Kiehl’s in my staples.

First, Kiehl’s is very generous when it comes to samples. Whenever you purchase from their store, whether physical or online, they give so many samples for you to try before you purchase the regular-sized products. One of those is Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Oil-Free Gel Cream. The small tub is just perfect for travel and it effectively hydrates the skin and controls shine without the greasy feeling. Happy to share one of my favorites this year too – it’s Kiehl’s Ultra Pure High-Potency Serum 5% Niacinamide.

This serum minimizes excess oil on my skin and soothes flare-ups on my face. It contains a high concentration of 5% niacinamide which soothes irritated skin while controlling oil production, leaving a shine-free complexion.

The product is made of only ten ingredient but I am glad to say that the more you use the product, the more you realize that it actually speeds up in improving the skin texture, reducing redness, moisturizing without making the skin look greasy and minimizing the appearance of wrinkles.

I also love that the serum is super lightweight, non-sticky and gets into the skin effortlessly.

There’s a hint of alcoholic, but almost zero, scent so it’s also a plus for me since strong fragrances also irritates my skin.

Another product that I truly love from Kiehl’s is their Calendula Herbal-Extract Toner. For acne-prone skin, nothing beats Calendula! You may have probably seen this product in my blog in the past and I must say, it is the best line for my oily and acne-prone skin.

This toner contains whole Calendula flowers and select herbal extracts as you can see at the bottom of its container that effectively (at least for me) cleanse and soothe the surface of the skin while removing dead cells without the alcohol or any harsh synthetic drying agents.

Another key ingredients is Allantoin, which is known to be bacteria inhibitor and it can soothe and reduce inflammation. I heard that this ingredient is good for oily and sensitive skin. The product has a subtle herbal scent, but it’s not very noticeable. I use this product every night, apply on a cotton pad and pat on my face. It’s a mild toner but it removes excess oil and dirt without causing irritation or itchiness on my skin.

I also recently added Kiehl’s Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing & Dark Circle-Diminishing Vitamin C Eye Serum to my stash. This small bottle has a very loongg name that promises a lot. Well, just like other eye creams, I haven’t noticed any difference but we’ll see! I am a contact lens user so having an eye serum is a must, together with eye drops, since my eyes dry out quickly. I am consistently using this product so I will update you if I see any improvement with the dark circles, at least.

Have you tried any of these products from Kiehl’s? I’d love to know your thoughts. Let me know if they’re effective for you!
