Say NO to Fake Etude House Products

Sometimes, it is really tempting to buy products at a much cheaper price so we tend to search online for the best deals or sometimes opt for Class A’s (sorry, I have to admit I have a couple of fake Hello Kitty and ChooChoo cat stuff – I can’t leave those cuties at the racks of the store) however, when it comes to makeup, fake/class A/counterfeit/replica makeup is a BIG NO-NO. Why? You wouldn’t take risks and just apply a cream on your skin which is below standard, right? Especially if you have acne-prone or sensitive skin. Been there, done that and learned from it. I remember one time, I bought a blush from an unknown brand somewhere just because it has a cute packaging and yep, I suffered the consequences. Hello, acne!
Now whenever I see an obviously fake cosmetic item in bazaars, I feel bad for the customers. Either, (1) they buy fake just to feel “they belong” or (2) they are not even aware that they are buying a knockoff.
I’m glad one cosmetic brand actually stepped forward and took action regarding unauthorized selling of their products and it’s none other than Etude House.
“We have not consented to any sale of such products by Lazada.com.ph and and is not in any way connected with the website and therefore cannot guarantee the authenticity and/or genuineness of the product sold by the said website.
In connection with this, Rosa Fiore House Corporation had filed criminal charges against the responsible corporate officers of LAZADA.com.ph for violations of Sections 155, 168 and 169 of the Intellectual Property Code due to the selling and/or facilitating the sale of fake and/or counterfeit Etude House of Korea product before the Office of the City Prosecutor of Makati which had been docketed as NPS DOCKET NO. XV-05-INV-15G2846.”

Etude House surely knows how to protect their Princes and Princesses against fake and/or counterfeit products. Hope this will serve as a lesson to some online sellers. Despite of this Korean brand’s affordable products, it is still being copied and not everyone knows about it! Some sellers would claim it’s Class A/Singapore-Authentic to trick people. Just to remind you, Class A’s and SG-authentic are still considered FAKE. So be careful when purchasing online or at bazaars. They might be selling products with almost the same packaging but the actual product inside is a different story. I’ve seen some in Divisoria. Ever heard of fake makeup ingredient stories? Que horror. Still best if you visit Etude House’s actual stores at the mall and buy there straight. You get the real thing plus, you get a royal treatment every time you step inside their store!
How about you? How do you feel about fake Etude House products?

  1. I agree with this post. I am very careful when buying online especially cosmetics and perfumes. Been duped before on ebay so I don't want it to happen again. There are a lot of sellers that are only for the money. They do not care about the welfare of their customers at all.

    1. Yep, and they would even lie just to get customers!

  2. I super applaud them for this!!! A lot of people wouldn't go public and just take things underground. I really love that they brought this issue forward and actually addressed it in public. Kudos to them!

    1. I think 2 other cosmetic/skincare brands followed and sued Lazada because of this.

  3. I really commend Etude House for taking action. Laganap na kaya ang pagbebenta ng fake products online, it's a good thing that someone is willing to take action against it. And to think sa Lazada pa. I thought Lazada can be trusted. O.O

  4. Raquel

Bumili ako sa althea kr. Do you think fake din ang products nila although they are claiming na authentic ang product nila?

    1. Carizza

Hello Raquel, although Althea is a different distributor, their products are all authentic as well.

Oh no, I am sorry I cannot help you verify that. Best to purchase from their official store, I think they still have a Shopee account
