A couple of weeks ago, I shared a photo in
Instagram about my mini makeup haul in Hongkong. Now’s the perfect time to review them one by one! Let’s start with Canmake cosmetics!
What’s on my table?
Canmake Shading Powder 01 (Danish Brown)
For those who are not familiar with Canmake, it is a Japanese brand that is very popular in gyaru and gal magazines. I got mine in SaSa since Canmake is not yet available here in the Philippines. (They are opening soon here in Manila so watch out for my updates!)
First, I find the packaging simple but really cute. It looks like a chocolate bar in a crystal case that is so tempting to nibble. The product also comes with a small brush.
I’ll be using this to contour particularly on the sides of my nose. I think it is just the right shade for my fair skin. The powder is matte, highly pigmented and smooth, a small amount will do the job and it is easy to blend as well. You can also use this on jawline and under your cheekbones. It creates an illusion of slender looking nose, defined and slimmer face.
As you can see, my face on the photo above is dull and flat. That is just right after applying bb cream. So I swept a little amount of shading powder (careful not to overdo it) on the sides of my nose and here’s the big difference:
However, the product won’t last long. Base on my experience, it will fade after around 5-6 hours but retouching once in a day won’t be a hassle anyway.
I did not retouch during those two dates so I must say the product worked perfectly. I really love the not-so-obvious effect. Canmake also have a Nose Shadow Powder which has a dark shadow and highlighter shades but I like this product more because it has absolutely no shimmer at all, making it more natural looking.
Overall, I think this product is great and I am definitely buying this product again! Have you tried this Canmake product?
